MONO-AXIAL ACCELEROMETER FOR RESONANCE FREQUENCY TEST
Used for determining the Longitudinal, Transverse (Flexural) and Torsional resonant frequency of concrete and natural stone samples. The reasonant frequency allows the determination of the Dynamic Modulus of Elasticity and the Dumping coefficient analysis frequently used, for instance, to determine the degradation due to freezing and thawing cycles. The methodology of investigation is based on the determination of the fundamental resonance values , which is generated from a strain induced on the sample by the impact of steel balls of different diameters detected from an accelerometer sensor. As result of the strain induced on the sample (which can be of three types: longitudinal, transverse (flexural) and Torsional), it is possible to determine the characteristics of the materials investigated, such as: Young modulus of elasticity, Rigidity modulus and Poisson’s ratio.
Description
Accelerometer specific for resonance frequency measures on undisturbed samples with C311R instrument. Sensor must be fixed to sample through particular inserts to paste on investigated sample in three different predetermined points with proper glue, to get maximum accuracy possible. Manual energization is performed through steel spheres of different weight and dimensions.
